“Noah’s Hill”

The winners of the 20th Frankfurt International Turkish Film Festival have been announced this year. Director Cenk Ertürk’s first feature “Nuh Tepesi” won first place in the Best Film category.

The award for best director was awarded to Emin Alper for the film “Kız Kardeşler”.

Cemre Ebuzziya, Helin Kandemir and Ece Yüksel were judged worthy of the award for best actress for their performances in the film “Kızkardeşler”.

The first prize in the Best Actor category went to Haluk Bilginer and Ali Atay, the main actors of the film “Nuh Tepesi”.

The festival prizes will be given to their owners at the festival to be held in 2021 due to the coronavirus measures.

In line with the measures taken due to the coronavirus epidemic, festival president Hüseyin Sıtkı, which was unable to keep in the format in previous years, said in a statement:

“We didn’t know whether to cancel the 20th Frankfurt International Turkish Film Festival for a long time. However, due to the increase in coronavirus numbers around the world and the tightening of the measures taken, we have decided to postpone our ceremony of awards ceremony in 2021. Furthermore, we will be the first to publish online on our festival website. We have also decided to show 10 short films and documentaries at the 21st Frankfurt International Turkish Film Festival next year due to the Izmir earthquake. We continued our festival activities with the same enthusiasm and we have started preparations for a stronger festival in 2021. All the artist who has stated that they will participate in our festival in this process. and friends and our supporting institutions on behalf of the committee of the festival, we share the effects and pains of the earthquake and the pandemic “.

SPECIAL FESTIVAL AWARDS

The names of the festival’s special awards have also been announced. While the loyalty prize was awarded to his daughter Güner Özkul on behalf of Münir Özkul, the artists Füsun Demirel and the Selçuk method received honorary career awards. The Special Audience Award 2019 was awarded to the film “Misafir”.
