The KB4586819 update for Windows 10 has arrived as an optional download and is arguably one of the best updates of recent times. Note that since it is not “required” it will not be downloaded or installed automatically. You will need to manually click download and install. This update includes a long list of fixes and improvements. For example, Microsoft claims to have fixed an issue that caused File Explorer to stop under certain conditions.

Additionally, this optional update also fixes issues in some games that use spatial audio. When this feature is enabled, a bug in Windows 10 causes games to stop responding to the keyboard and mouse.

However, another bug has been fixed that caused strange problems in some apps.

Microsoft has also fixed a problem with USB 3.0. In some configurations, Microsoft has revealed that devices connected to USB 3.0 ports may stop working when the device restarts. To solve it you need to manually turn the device off and on again. Either that, or install this update.

Now an important detail. Is that this update, KB4586819, is only available for devices that are in version 1909 or 1903 of Windows 10. So, if it’s in version 20H2 or version 2004, Microsoft will release an update with similar fixes later this month or the first week of December.

However, as we speak in the month of Christmas, Microsoft will focus on security updates and less on others. This means that the next series of significant updates will only be available in the third or fourth week of January.

Additional security fixes will be delayed so Microsoft engineers can focus on what’s needed as mentioned in latest Windows. After all, everything safety comes first.
