A New York-born actor Will & Grace has sent the internet into a frenzy after nailing an Australian accent.
Brian Jordan Alvarez – who played Estefan Gloria in the hit TV series – took to Twitter on Monday with a comedy video congratulating Americans on voting for Joe Biden in the White House.
But one feature of the short clip left viewers surprised.
The Colombian-American adopted an Australian impression worthy of an award – complete with a singlet, casual vulgarity, and notable upward inflection.

“Hey guys, I just wanted to reach America and say we’re so proud of you that you got rid of your stupid fucking dictator,” he said in the video.
‘You guys are going to have like a regular president again.
‘It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it’s a lot better than the shit you’ve been through to the whole world for the past four years.
“So I just want to say congratulations and you’re not as stupid as we thought, and we love you … now.”
Punctual articulation quickly went viral, garnering over 445,000 views since it was posted.
People from all over the world cheered Alvarez’s “flawless” pronunciation, with many saying they had to double-check that he was a foreigner.
‘I thought he was Australian. Learning that it isn’t is mind blowing. This is the only fake Aussie accent I’ve ever heard that actually works, “wrote one person.

‘HOLY F *** K !! IS NOT AUSTRALIAN ??? For sure he made fun of me and I am from Australia !!!! That accent is perfect! Right Dinkum! Another added.
‘I literally had no idea this guy wasn’t Australian. People kept sending it to me yesterday and I was like, “so, an Aussie guy made a video,” “a third said.
Australians have described inflection as a cross between “Sydney” and “Gold Coast teenager”.
Many said it was the best Aussie accent they had ever heard, surpassing those adopted by Hollywood actors Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep.
Alvarez is also known for his role as Wesley Masters in Jane the Virgin.
