WhatsApp has recently made official what has been known for some time and are the messages that self-destruct.

At first it was thought that self-destructing messages on WhatsApp had an extension more personalized and shorter duration. So when many saw that the deadline would be 7 days, the disappointment has been such that it is simply not considered an attractive option.
If the intentions of the temporality of the messages were related to privacy, with those limitations very little is achieved because in 7 days the message can be forwarded to another chat, saved in a screenshot and even recorded in the cloud with an export to chat.
Comparisons with Telegram
The similarities to the instant messaging application, Telegram, are mandatory, and even more so when this platform allows for more options in self-destructing messages.
In Telegram the user can customize if his message is destroyed in 7, 15, 30 and 60 seconds after being read. Also, during that time, you won’t be able to take a screenshot or forward it to another chat.
That’s why when it comes to privacy, the Telegram platform is much better than WhatsApp in this respect.
Likewise, that WhatsApp has landed self-destructive messages on its platform is hardly a progress, slower than expected, but it could eventually have many tweaks for optimization.
