Who is the jury of “The Taste 2020”?
In addition to the two veterans Frank Rosin and Alexander Herrmann, the coaches of “The Taste” 2020 are Tim Raue and Alex Kumptner. While star chef Tim trained the candidates in the kitchen in the seventh season of “The Taste”, Viennese Alex Kumptner is very fresh. Can he win right away?
Coaches not only appear as supporters on the show – they retire from each of the candidates’ solo cooking and blindly evaluate their spoons as a jury.
Who moderates “The Taste”?
In season 8 there is a change in moderation. Christine Henning retired, the format was first taken over by plus-size model Angelina Kirsch. The native Neumünster was approached by a modeling agency while on vacation at a Roman ice cream parlor in 2012. He is now the face of the campaign for brands such as Adler, Ulla Popken, bonprix, Zalando, C&A and H&M and takes photos all over the world and participates in fashion shows in Milan and Madrid. In 2017, the 31-year-old ranked third with dance partner Massimo Sinato in the tenth season of Let’s Dance.
What are the rules of “The Taste”?
The top priority of “The Taste” is to convince as many members of the jury as possible in a blind tasting with a created dish. Instead of a whole dish, however, it is important to serve several compressed flavor combinations on one spoon. So the first bite must be a success!
There is one team cook and one solo cook per episode of “The Taste” – aside from the final show, in which the remaining candidates have yet to do three rounds of individual cooking.
In the team kitchen, the candidates prepare a dish together, but only serve one spoon per team to the judges. The losing team must then say goodbye to a candidate.
After solo firing, another candidate is eliminated. If there is a tie after the jury’s evaluation, which is done by assigning stars, there is also a hot decision.
