WHO statement revealed: Corona less lethal than seasonal flu

While the number sounds scary, it points to another consequence. According to the Guardian report, if 1.1 million people have died from the virus, which has reached 780 million people, the death rate from infection (IFR) is calculated at around 0.14%.

This figure reveals that corona virus is less lethal than seasonal flu, as experts in many parts of the world say. In March, when the epidemic first peaked in Europe, the IFR rate was calculated at 3.4 percent. This rate has led to quarantines and arrests in many countries.
