Who are the major influencers of Bitcoin and Ethereum?

The Hive.one community monitoring tool has has updated its algorithm to better reflect Bitcoin and Ethereum’s biggest influencers on Twitter, he said in a post last week.

If you’ve spent any time searching for “#bitcoin” or “#ethereum” on Twitter, the vastness of the social space and the seemingly endless number of self-proclaimed “experts” may have dazzled you. But Hive.one aims to solve just that by building social “clusters” and assigning confidence metrics to popular users (who are followed by members of that cluster) to help newcomers and veterans better navigate the social space and know who to trust.

Hive.one calculates influence scores using a Twitter account’s “following” total. This is similar to how the search engine giant Google creates its own word clusters, giving users faster and more accurate search results.

“The more influential your new follower is and the fewer other accounts they follow, the greater your score will increase,” explained Hive.one in a post.

The Hive.one system is now further refined. Last week’s algorithm update, the “biggest” so far, builds on the various flaws of previous versions, such as less accuracy and the use of manual intervention, and updates social clusters much faster than before.

The most recent version of Hive.one can also quickly add an important individual talking about Bitcoin and assign them a trust score. This was not present in the previous version, which, for example, took several weeks to add enterprise software company MicroStrategy, CEO Michael Saylor, who holds nearly $ 800 of the asset between his company and personal accounts and has become a real Bitcoin shaman.

So which accounts take the cake to be the most trusted, followed and accurate? On the Bitcoin side, there is the founder of the Bitcoin technology company Blockstream Adam Back, engineer Pieter Wuilleand developer Pierre Rochard (which caused the SupplyGate controversy earlier this year) as the top three.

Their main Ethereum counterparts are the creators of the protocol Vitalik Buterin, creator of the content Evan Van Nessand developer Hudson Jameson.

Some accounts have raised the ranks literally. For Bitcoin, the ranking of a pseudonymous profile called “Psychedelic Bart“It jumped 175 positions to 102 (also above maintenance engineer Monero Ricardo Spagni). On the other hand, less well-known Ethereum developers Paul Hauner (now 61 °) e Jacek Sieka | (now 99th) jumped 250 and 354 positions respectively compared to the previous rankings.

Meanwhile, Hive.one suggests not taking rankings as the last word. “We do NOT tell you who to listen to and what to trust. Instead, we map various groups and show you who their members are, who they pay attention to and what information they consider credible, ”the company warns. So it’s best to take with a pinch of salt then.
