WhatsApp recently began testing new features on the Beta channel for both iOS and Android. These include new advanced options for the chat background, Read Later, which will replace archived chats, and the ability to mute photos and videos before sending them.
WhatsApp is testing more controls when setting and changing wallpapers in chats. First, it adds the ability to set wallpapers individually for each conversation rather than for all chats. The opacity of the background is now adjustable and there are 32 new themed wallpapers and 29 new backgrounds bright to dark theme to choose from.
The Archived feature in WhatsApp is apparently replaced by a screen called “Read Later”. This feature will include a new vacation mode that WhatsApp is planning to release. The Read Later cell will always appear visible at the top of chats.
In the edit section of Read later, you can quickly select the chats to extract from the archive, and on the “Edit archive settings” page, you will be able to turn vacation mode on or off.
Finally, WhatsApp adds a new option when sending videos. This will have the option to turn off the video.
All the features we share are still being tested in Beta. bB Therefore, it may take some time before the stable version is available to everyone. The innovations will likely no longer be offered in 2020 and all innovations will be archived for the first quarter of 2021.
