The messaging app Whatsapp is working to introduce a new feature that will allow users to turn off videos before sending them, as well as new background features.
WhatsApp is working on a new feature called “Disable video”, with which users can mute their videos before sending them to a contact.
This new feature is still under development and should be available in a future update, as reported by the WABetaInfo portal.
Likewise, WhatsApp is working on new features related to backgrounds with which users can set a wallpaper different for each chat and they can change the opacity of wallpaper.
Users will also be able to choose between 32 new shiny wallpapers, 29 dark backgrounds, to custom wallpaper and solid colors.
WhatsApp has released these features in its beta version for operating systems Android and an update for web version and stable versions, as indicated by WABetaInfo.
Furthermore, WhatsApp will also replace what is currently known as archived chats for the “read later” section, a modification with which notifications will not be displayed of new messages while chats remain in this section, with the aim of reduce interruptions. This feature is under development and is expected to be rolled out in a future build of the messaging service.
These new features come after WhatsApp released Disappearing Messages, a feature that when activated allows users to choose which messages and files from a conversation are automatically removed every seven days.
The app has also redesigned hers memory management tool which now offers, in addition to cleaning tips, the ability to select and delete all files at once, by checking a single box.
