The two major graphics card manufacturers recently unveiled their new product ranges to the world. The first was then Nvidia, which in early September announced its powerful GeForce RTX 3070, RTX 3080 and RTX 3090. At the end of October, it was AMD’s turn to unveil its new GPU, the Radeon RX 6800. RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT.

After this news, the print market has become even more competitive. In this sense, in our question this week we want to know which is the best graphics chip manufacturer for you.

What is the best graphics chip manufacturer for you?

After Nvidia and AMD unveiled their new graphics cards, gamers have been faced with a complicated task of choosing the best equipment to meet their needs and, of course, this is in line with their portfolio.

Let's remember a little about each of the dishes presented by these two producers.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070, RTX 3080 and RTX 3090

Nvidia has officially announced the second generation of its GeForce RTX Series 30 GPU lineup. RTX 3090, RTX 3080 is RTX 3070, with Ampere architecture and promise superior performance to those achieved by the previous generation.

According to Nvidia, the new graphics cards are capable of delivering up to 2x performance and 1.9x power efficiency over the previous generation based on Turing.

Nvidia RTX 30 range specifications:

  • a GeForce RTX 3080 it launched on September 17 for $ 699 (~ 592 Euros). It is 2x faster than the RTX 2080. It offers 10GB of GDDR6X memory and is capable of running games in 4K resolution at 60 fps.
  • me and GeForce RTX 3090 it launched on September 24 for $ 1,499 (~ 1,270 Euros), being known as "BFGPU" - Big Ferocious GPU. It has a silencer and 24GB of GDDR6X memory, allowing you to handle the most complex AI algorithms. This card promises to be 50% faster than Titan RTX and is capable of running 8K games at 60fps.
  • Finally, the GeForce RTX 3070 arrived in October for $ 499 (~ 422 Euros). It will be faster than the RTX 2080 at less than half the price and still 60% faster than the RTX 2070. It comes with 8GB of GDDR6 memory and can run games in 4K and 1440p resolutions.

AMD Radeon RX 6800, RX 6800 XT and 6900 XT

The new AMD RX 6800, RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT graphics cards will compete with Nvidia equipment.

Specifications of AMD's new GPUs

It's the simplest of all and uses a Navi 21 XL GPU. It will compete with Nvidia's base model, the GeForce RTX 3070 or even the RTX 2080 Ti. It features 60 compute units, a base clock of 1815 MHz, a boost clock of 1205 MHz, 16.17 teraflops, and 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. It consumes 250 watts of power, which is 10 less than Nvidia's RTX 2080 Tu Founders Edition. The RX 6800 will cost $ 579 (~ 493 Euros) and will be available on November 18.

It brings a more powerful GPU, the Navi 21 XT and could be a direct competitor to the RTX 3080. At the memory level, the graphics carry 16GB of GDDR6 and promises to be able to outperform the RTX 3080 in several computer games , either in 4k or 1440p resolution, achieving even lower power consumption. It offers a base clock of 2015 MHz, a boost clock of 2250 MHz, 20.74 teraflops of performance and 72 compute units. The price of this card will be $ 649 (~ 553 Euros) and will also be available on November 18th.

top of the range powered by the Navi 21 XTX GPU, which is therefore AMD's most powerful. This card will then be the one that will play in the same elite league as Nvidia's RTX 3090. It brings 16GB of GDDR6 memory and achieves powerful performance, but with less power, at a much lower value than the RTX 3090. It comes with 80 compute units, has 23.04 teraflops, but the base clock maintains 2015 MHz, which could increase to 2250 MHz. The RX 6900 XT will cost $ 999 (~ 851 Euros) and will hit the market on December 8th.

All three models are based on the RDNA 2 architecture, the latest technology from AMD, which is therefore also found on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. They also feature a traditional 2.5-slot design, with PCIe and a triple system ventilation to cool the plates.
