There is no shortage of altcoins, but Digibyte was one of the first to hit the market on the pre-ICO days of 2014. It boasts a secure infrastructure that is faster than Bitcoin. For this reason, DGB boasts the longest running blockchain.
Still a real altcoin, DigiByte's prices are very linked to Bitcoin, but it's much more than a 2.0 blockchain project. Its three-layer blockchain network separates smart contracts, processing and decentralized applications. It also includes cross-chain compatibility, making it a valuable competitor in the blockchain arms race.
Digibyte can be a hidden gem in the cryptic world.
Breakdown of DGB [19659005] DigiByte has a market capitalization of $ 270,254,204 as of August 18, 2018. This is based on a circulating offering of 10.678.573.602 DGB (about half of the maximum supply of 21,000,000,000) and an exchange rate of $ 0.025308. Its highest peak occurred on January 5, 2018, when it reached $ 0.138940.DGB is widely accepted on cryptographic markets, with Bittrex, Poloniex, Sistemkoin, HitBTC, Kucoin, Upbit and YoBit with significant daily trading volumes.
Its trading pairs include BTC, USDT and ETH, with occasional legal currencies.
DigiByte offers portfolios for all operating systems, and there is third-party support from Coinomi, Ledger, Trezor, Watch, Exodus, Satowallet and more. [19659004] That Other Bitcoin
During the Bitcoin 2017, DigiByte had the good fortune to ride the wave of cryptocurrency in several new investments. Like a legacy cryptography that existed in the pre-peak days, it was soon found by Crypto Media and analysts looking for the next novelty.
Like Bitcoin, DigiByte uses UTXO to verify balances through each cryptographic currency rather than the address book that holds them in hand.
DigiByte is open source and aims to be more decentralized than Bitcoin. It is also faster, boasting a safer and more anonymous infrastructure. It supports 43,000 nodes, almost 6 times the 7,400 nodes supported by Bitcoin. It also supports 100 times the supply of coins.
John McAfee has proclaimed that DigiByte is a currency to watch, but it is not the token's fault. MultiShield and DigiShield, DigiByte's security implementations, certainly rival the eponymous name of paranoid security.
DigiByte is gaining popularity among players thanks to DigiByte Gaming, which offers DGB as a reward for some games. We have mentioned on several occasions the importance of tokenization and cryptocurrency play.
While it is slow to be adopted, this red-haired stepchild of the cryptic world can see long-term sustainable success.
Rise of the Auxcoin
Rather than an altcoin, I like to call DigiByte an auxcoin. It is a form of auxiliary payment that will eventually support a market because of its cross-compatibility. The segregated witness (SegWit) makes it a valuable currency that can be used as an intermediary on market transactions to facilitate congestion towards activities such as Bitcoin.
A new DigiByte block is extracted approximately every 15-18 seconds versus 10 minutes for Bitcoin. It also uses 5 job testing algorithms to encourage decentralization between ASIC and GPU miners. Because of these extra algorithms and improved transaction times, DigiByte's blockchain is already the longest existing.
It is 40 times faster than Bitcoin and its four-year lifespan has easily surpassed Bitcoin transactions only in throughput. At 280 transactions per second, DigiByte has not slowed down its old age, showing that it is a more scalable payment and mining option than Bitcoin.
Like Ethereum, the DigiByte network has multiple levels. One is the level of the basic protocol, followed by a level of digital resources and a decentralized level of application. Keeping them separate, together with the management of five algorithms on them, makes DigiByte technologically at the forefront and future-proof for a long period of time.
Even if it is not adopted by the mainstream, DigiByte is sure to continue to receive valuable community support for years to come.
Summary
DigiByte was not the first blockchain, but has the advantage of first-mover on most projects by having an active community with an existing platform for four years. DigiByte may never be as popular as Bitcoin as a digital resource, but it will certainly remain in use based on its main advantages.
- DigiByte is faster than Bitcoin and gets even faster. By 2020, it plans to manage 2000 transactions per second.
- DigiByte is the longest active blockchain, easily exceeding Bitcoins without slowing down.
- DigiByte has a three-layer blockchain with five unique algorithms running on it.
- Its open-source nature encourages further development to keep the DigiByte relevant with the passage of time.
It is not the Belle of the Ball, but DigiByte checks a lot of the right notes in a cryptocurrency. It is proven to be scalable and able to process much faster in the use of the real world than many popular choices. It simply does not have the same advertising and adoption, but those that do it with firm convictions.
