  • Santiment has seen strong growth in Ripple (XRP) and Chainlink (LINK) whales over the past six months.
  • The XRPL monitor recorded transactions amounting to 100 million XRPs.

The Santiment analytics platform has released new data showing whales accumulate XRP and Chainlink (LINK). In a series of tweets, Santiment informed his 29,200 followers that Whales have bought XRP in the past six months. As a result, the number of XRP wallets with a balance of at least 100,000 XRP has increased significantly. The analyst firm wrote concretely:

Ripple’s whale count has increased over the past 6 months, with many in the high tier ranges of $ XRP. From April holders of:

100K – 1M: from 14,525 to 17,387 whales (+ 19.7%)
1M – 10M: 1,307 to 1,336 whales (+ 2.2%)
10M +: 280 to 309 whales (+ 10.4%).

But also for Chainlink (LINK), Santiment has found a strong interest from the main investors. According to Santiment, the top 100 non-exchangeable whale addresses have purchased 34.2 million additional LINK tokens in the past 12 months. Santiment explained:

If this is not the representation of constant accumulation for #ChainlinkTop 100 whales with no trade in the last year, we don’t know what it is. $ LINKThe offline increase in tokens at this rate really shows the confidence in the asset by those who are most at stake.

The aggressiveness of the best LINK whales is therefore stable, while the supply of Chainlink (LINK) remains dominated by the whales. According to the explorer Etherscan, the top 10 addresses (excluding smart contracts, liquidity pools and exchanges) are responsible for nearly 15% of LINK’s current offer.

Crypto exchanges move larger sums than XRP

While Santiment showed an increase in XRP whales, the XRPL monitor, the tracking bot for XRP Ledger, has recorded transactions worth around 100 million XRPs from several major exchanges such as Bitstamp, Bittrex, Huobi, Binance and Bitfinex over the past two days.

According to tweets from XRPL Monitor, Bitstamp’s On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) service has moved 22.7 million XRPs between Bitstamp’s internal crypto-wallets. The XRPL monitor also recorded an internal transfer of 35 million XRP by Huobi; a similar amount of XRP was also sent to the exchange by Bitfinex. Surprisingly, Huobi is one of the companies currently working with Ripple on PayID integration, which is designed to make crypto payments as easy as sending emails.
