Here it is: the PlayStation 5. In our test, we’ll tell you what inspires us about the PS5 and why you don’t have to be sad if you have to wait a few more weeks.
The positive
Fast Lane in die Next Gen
PlayStation 5 has the best range of launch titles since PS2: Demon souls, Spider-Man: Miles Morales and especially the insider tip Astro’s playroom, which comes pre-installed with every console, are not only very good games, but also show the potential of the console.
Fast Lane – in every way
The PS5 is fast, very fast. The console’s proprietary SSD greatly reduces loading times and boosts game flow to an unimaginable level. Plus, the PlayStation Network has finally gotten faster. Downloads of several gigabytes can be loaded in minutes with an appropriate Internet connection.
It looks like Next Gen
PlayStation relies heavily on generation change. Starting with the new DualSense controller, packed with new features and gimmicks. Even the completely revised menu invites you to discover and offers useful news. All in all, a lot looks very cool.
The thing that needs improvement
Design
Love or hate. The PS5 is very large and has a very special shape. Finding room for it in a TV cabinet isn’t easy, and it’s very likely that it won’t fit any of the digest’s common decor trends for interior design.
Teething problems
The PlayStation 5 is currently struggling with an unusually high number of small and big problems. Let’s go one by one.
Install-Bug
Installed games are deleted after the disc is ejected and must be reinstalled. There is a workaround for this, but it is very bad.
Louder instead of quieter
Some fans don’t seem to be as quiet as Sony promised.
Freezer
The transfer to PS4 stops or the console freezes.
Blackout
Sometimes the installed games don’t even start.
Final thoughts
It is an urgent matter, Sony must work to solve the problems described above. Unfortunately, these are not isolated cases from the vastness of the Internet: I have experienced the first and third cases myself, two and four with friends. We are also aware of a case where the PS5 completely freezes, no longer boots and has now sadly become a warranty case. It’s a shame that these issues overshadow the otherwise great launch of the PlayStation 5. Because the “look and feel” within the system and games is very pleasant and the controller also makes a great impression. Hopefully, Sony will respond quickly to problems and act in an accommodating manner.
How did you experience the launch of this new console? What are the positive and negative impressions? Let us know in the comments!
