Nov. 17 (UPI) – Maria Bakalova, who played Borat Tutar’s daughter in Borat 2, appeared on The Late Late Show to discuss the film and how it made her mother cry.

“My mom called me FaceTime after seeing the movie and she was so sad. Her eyes were full of tears. She cried for maybe two hours,” said Bakalova, who is from Bulgaria.

“And because he’s kind of a masochist, of course, he looked at it twice and it was even sadder,” continued the actress.

Bakalova got the part over 600 others after her friend filmed her audition as a joke. He sent in more audition tapes and eventually left Bulgaria to film the project. Bakalova’s mother was scared for her safety.

Bakalova also talked about it Borat 2 scene with President Donald Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani, who was filmed in a compromising position with his character Tutar.

Giuliani denied any allegations in the scene which appeared to show him putting his hands in his pants while he was with Bakalova in character, inside a hotel room. Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat quickly jumped out of a hidden closet to end the scene.

“Maddening. My heart was pounding and I was nervous. I was afraid. I’m not afraid because Sacha was the closest,” Giuliani said of the scene.

Borat’s next cinematic film: Delivery of the prodigious bride to the American regime to take advantage of the glorious nation of Kazakhstan, is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
