In an interview with Wccftech, Galvin Whitlock, chief programmer at Ubisoft, commented on the presence of new graphics technologies in Watch Dogs: Legion, providing more information on performance in Xbox Series S and no PC. According to the developer, the game will run at a maximum of dynamic 1080p on the Microsoft console and will have Ray Tracing more detailed about computers.
Apparently, the game would have to sacrifice visual quality during moments of increased on-screen action, recovering image sharpness and clarity as the game “mellowes.” Whitlock did not comment on how much the variation between minimum and maximum will be.
On computers, the Ubisoft title will have a slight advantage over consoles, as Ray Tracing on PC was designed to achieve more surfaces, including rough ones. “The basis of Ray Tracing is the same on all platforms that support it. For RTX on PC, we Ray Tracing for rougher surfaces in more situations, ”said Whitlock.
