A teaser was released on Saturday revealing the title of Kamal Haasan’s next film. The film, which will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, was titled Vikram.
The teaser opens with Kamal Haasan in a kitchen. He’s cooking a sumptuous appetizer. Meanwhile, it is also loading ammunition, enough to take down a small army. Then the guests enter, wearing masks to break bread with Kamal. They just don’t know what’s hiding under the table.
Lokesh Kanagaraj took the title from Kamal’s 1986 action movie of the same name. Perhaps, this movie is a spin-off with the RAW agent, who stopped a missile attack over 25 years ago.
The filmmakers previously revealed that the crew followed all COVID-19 safety guidelines when making the teaser.
Kamal Haasan is expected to start filming for Vikram this month.
Vikram is a giant step for director Lokesh Kanagaraj. He made an impressive directorial debut with Maanagaram in 2017. Last year, he directed Kaithi with Karthi, and he also became a huge hit with audiences and critics alike. And for the third film, Master, he managed to tie in Vijay to play the lead role. The high-budget film, which was due to release earlier this year, has been suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The project will be financed by Raaj Kamal Films International, Kamal Haasan’s flagship production. Bigg Boss fame Tharshan is rumored to play a major role in this film.
Vikram will be filmed in and around Chennai. And the filmmakers aim to release it next summer.
