Viking Black Friday Limited Edition Gaming Desktop PC from PC Garage

[ad_1]

I have reached the third PC Garage desktop system that I am testing. The first was Arkay, the second Dragon, both equipped with an AMD processor. This time we see a PC with an Intel “brain” at work, a system that is offered by PC Garage exclusively for Black Friday 2020, so we have a limited edition.

We didn’t get the price for this system, but we were promised a real deal for the Viking Black Friday Limited Edition Gaming PC, so I’m really curious to see what PC Garage has prepared for us on November 13, 2020.

I received the system already assembled in the Segotep Polar Light V2 case box. In addition to the unit, we also found sealed in a bag: the remote control that controls the 3 fans further mounted in the case, a cable for source / motherboard, power cable, CD with drivers for the motherboard and some brochures with various information on the motherboard and video card:

The housing of PC Garage’s Viking Black Friday Limited Edition system is a modern design with a slight industrial touch, supported by the 10 push-in head screws that secure two smoked plexiglass strips, one elongated on the front, the other on the upper one.

Behind these strips are large ventilation grilles. We also see such grids in the back and at the bottom, but they are smaller.

On the left side there is a large piece of plexiglass fixed to the housing frame by 4 screws that can be unscrewed by hand.

The housing support legs are four. They are made of hard rubber with a piece of sponge in the center. Depending on your preferences or needs, these sponge pieces can be removed and the housing will rest directly on the rubber feet. The grip seemed better on these directly.

The Segotep Polar Light V2 case doesn’t come with any fans attached, but PC Garage’s Viking Black Friday Limited Edition system offers three 120mm AQIRYS Aries ARGB fans, two on the front and one on the back. Each is equipped with RGB lighting, which can be controlled via the small remote control.

The lighting is always synchronized between the three fans and the control possibilities are more than sufficient.

The processor heatsink, model Inter-Tech Argus SU-800 RGB, also has RGB lighting, but is not controllable. It is the rainbow type that always changes its shades.

I really liked the way the components were assembled in the case, the cable management is great, very few wires are visible. Everything looks quality, not necessarily impressive, but still absolutely nothing to comment on.

Viking Black Friday Limited Edition gaming desktop PC benchmark test by the PC Garage

Let’s move on to what matters. We surpassed PC Garage’s Viking Black Friday Limited Edition system through a series of benchmark tests, the results of which we have included in the table below along with those of another PC Garage game system, the more powerful Arkay.

Benchmark heads for desktop PC games Viking Black Friday Limited Edition by the PC Garage

The results aren’t bad at all for what PC Garage falls into the PC for Light Gaming area. If you are curious to know which other desktop PC systems of the same category you can find on PC Garage, you can access this link, where there are a total of 16 models.

Screenshots of CPU-Z with information about PC Garage Viking Black Friday Limited Edition desktop PC system:

During the benchmark tests, but also when running the test games, I monitored the temperatures on the processor and video card, where no high values were recorded. In contrast, the highest on the CPU only reached 65 degrees Celsius, while on the GPU it reached 69 degrees Celsius.

The active cooling system consisting of 3 120mm fans on the housing, plus the one on the CPU also 120mm and the two on the video card, proves extremely efficient in keeping the temperatures on key components under strict control. It is important to note that as soon as the load on the processor or video card is reduced, temperatures drop several degrees Celsius in a second or two, stabilizing around 28-32 degrees at idle.

I also say here that the speed of the three fans mounted on the housing can be manually controlled by the remote control in two stages (Low and High) or it can be left on Auto (also by the remote control).

In terms of gaming performance, we tested the following titles, in Full HD resolution, each time with the maximum settings available for each:

  • GTA V: average 88 fps, maximum 139 fps, minimum 63 fps;
  • PUBG – 92 fps on average, 131 fps maximum, 74 fps minimum;
  • Far Cry 5 – average 77 fps, maximum 167 fps, minimum 52 fps;
  • Battlefield V – average 95 fps, maximum 131 fps, minimum 65 fps;
  • Fortnite: average 97 fps, maximum 136 fps, minimum 73 fps;
  • NFS Heat – 67fps average, 96fps maximum, 51fps minimum.

conclusions

Viking Black Friday Limited Edition Gaming Desktop PC from PC Garage

The Viking Black Friday Limited Edition Desktop Gaming PC will be available for sale strictly during the Black Friday 2020 promotions at PC Garage, a campaign starting in the early minutes of November 13th. Most likely, as in previous years, there will be problems at midnight, so that later the site will be accessible to everyone.

I admit I’m curious what the price of this system will be, which isn’t bad at all. It seems quite balanced to me, although, as always, everyone can have other preferences when assembling their PC. I say that if a good price is displayed, with a fair discount, Viking Black Friday Limited Edition can be an inspired choice for those looking for a lightweight gaming system.

PRO

  • interestingly designed case, top mounting, optimal cable management;
  • Very efficient cooling system, even in the most demanding loads the temperatures do not reach at all, they are well kept under control;
  • hardware assembly sufficiently performing for light games;
  • the system configuration can be changed by the user after purchase without losing the warranty.

VERSUS

  • Until we know the price of this limited edition system it cannot issue counterpart points, it all depends on the final cost.
