The famous Vallenata music composer, Romualdo Brito, died this Friday in a car accident. His death mourns Colombian folklore. The tragic event took place at the height of the San Roque district, Curumaní (Cesar) jurisdiction.

According to official information, the artist was traveling on a white Nissan JCW-407 license plate, which left the road and collided with a tree on the left side of the road.
“Mr. Romualdo Brito López sustained multiple injuries in different parts of his body and unfortunately died on the spot,” said the officer.
In the event, according to De los Reyes, the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the road and collided with a metal road rail and a tree, which caused the total rollover. The authorities are investigating the fact.

“We are conducting the respective investigations, as according to preliminary information it could be a micro dream and an acceleration,” the authorities said.
The composer was traveling accompanied by his son Romualdo Brito and his daughter’s fiancé, who suffered severe fractures, for which they were transferred to the Cristian Moreno Pallares de Curumaní hospital.
“He left Valledupar for Bogotá very early. The last contact I had with him was at 5:30 in the morning. He told me they were coming. Then at 8 in the morning they called me and told me about the accident, ”says Indira de la Cruz, the artist’s wife, tearfully.
The composer’s career
Romualdo Brito was born in the village of Tomarrazón (La Guajira), he was 67 years old and from a very young age he distinguished himself for his Vallenato music compositions, which is why he was considered as one of the greatest exponents of that genre, where he received well-deserved awards.
He has had a successful career in Vallenato’s music. Among his many most emblematic compositions, among the many he has created with his prodigious mind and talent, are: Mis Viejos, recorded by Los Betos; El Indio, recorded by Diomedes Díaz; Your husband has arrived, played by Jorge Oñate; My Wife, recorded by Otto Serge; El Santo Cachón, an emblem of the popular Vallenato performed by Los Embajadores among other themes.

The ‘Puma’ of Vallenato also sent his farewell message to the composer accompanied by a photo.

For their part, political figures close to Brito also lamented his tragic death.
