The Jamaican athlete praised the Portuguese footballer’s speed and hard work, whom he considers a “super athlete”.
Usain Bolt, considered the fastest athlete of all time, confesses that today Cristiano Ronaldo could join him on a racing track. “Cristiano would win for sure. Because he’s still active. For me he works every day and for me he’s a super athlete,” he said in an interview with Marca, the Jamaican, who left track and field in 2017.
“I think he would be faster than me right now,” says Bolt, who does not hesitate to praise the Portuguese footballer’s sporting ambition. “He is always at the top of his sport,” points out the record holder and eight-time Olympic gold medalist.
Bolt also recalled that after leaving track and field he sought to build a career as a footballer in Australia with the Central Coast Mariners. His idea was to move away from media attention and have a quieter life, with less pressure, but the plan didn’t go as planned.
“I think if I had stayed in Europe I would have had a lot more help. It would have lasted longer and been more successful,” he told the newspaper.
