The latest update to macOS Big Sur caused several issues for MacBook Pro users, with devices getting stuck during installation, only displaying a black screen.
The issue appears to occur frequently on late 2013 and mid 2014 MacBook Pro 13 models. However, users of other models have also experienced difficulties and others say they were able to fix the bug. However, the two MacBook Pro 13 models seem to face serious problems.
These were revealed by MacBook users on the MacRumors, Reddit and Apple support site forums. There is no information on what would cause these problems or easy ways to fix them. Apparently, neither resetting NVRAM nor booting into safe mode fixes the bugs, according to users.
The new operating system, macOS Big Sur, therefore has a very large number of bugs since its launch. More recently, new devices with the Apple M1 processor on board get stuck after returning to factory settings. At the same time, they would experience sudden lag and slowdowns due to a lesser known feature that controls new programs installed on the computer.
Apple is currently experiencing problems with the server, making it impossible for users of older devices to install the new update. However, given the problems and errors that have arisen, it would be better to wait a few weeks before they are resolved.
