Update from November 16, 2020: Nokia’s Smart TVs will soon be available to customers in Europe. According to Streamview, these are the first smart TVs that Nokia is launching on the European market. The devices will be available in 55, 58, 65 and 75 inches. With Nokia, a new player is entering the Swiss TV market. Austrian company Streamview wants to bring the first smart TVs and streaming devices to local retailers in time for the Christmas activity under the Nokia brand. According to its own information, Streamview holds the exclusive rights for distribution in Europe.
As Streamview reports, both TVs and streaming devices run on the Android operating system. Also, apps like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus, Youtube, Google Play and others are available for users. According to Streamview, Stremaing devices are there to upgrade older TVs to smart TVs.
Steamview does not specify when exactly the device will start being sold in Switzerland. There are also no further details on the price, size or number of the different models. TVs and streaming devices will be available online at nokia.streamview.com and in major TV and electronics stores.
Nokia is no TV newbie

The brand’s smart TVs have been around in India for quite some time. Six new devices went on sale there on October 15th. Nokia once had a foothold in the television industry in Europe as well. In the early 1990s, for example, the manufacturer was selling color TVs under the ITT Nokia brand, until the Finnish parent company abandoned its entertainment electronics business to focus entirely on the mobile phone business.
Nokia has joined not only the TV providers but also the 5G mobile phone providers. With 8.3 5G, the brand has launched a smartphone that is expected to support all 5G frequencies around the world.
