What criteria influenced you in the “Promise of Honor”?
There are a lot of things. First of all, Cevdet Mercan is the director of the project and Eda Tezcan is the screenwriter. Obviously the great cast .. I was struck by everything. Also, the character I played was very important to me. For many years I have wanted to revive a character like “Hasan”. He has a very lonely life and a somewhat fairytale life. I really wanted to characterize someone alone. Additionally, filming on an island during this pandemic period provided a great advantage. Furthermore, I have never seen or felt such a magnificent setting.
Does Hasan have any resemblance to you?
Yes there is; be a lover of the sea. And the fact that our boats are almost the same and that we live alone are what we look like. What is the source of your curiosity about diving into the sea?
It always has been. I have loved being at sea with my boat for about 8-10 years. And how can people not be interested in the sea in our country anyway? We live in a country surrounded by the sea on almost all four sides. The more seafarers we are, the more our country will develop. Furthermore, such a beautiful sea does not exist anywhere in the world. It is not possible to stay away from it. Shipping is thought to be expensive, but it is not. You wouldn’t pay more for a marina than you would for parking in Istanbul.
Did you do any special work for the character “Hasan”?Are there any elements you have added to your Hasan character besides your enarma?
After the script is finished, we work with our teacher and try to capture the character he wants. My advantage is that I have a third job with Cevdet Mercan. So I knew very well what he wanted. With my teacher’s instructions, “Hasan” sat in a much better seat. We’re shooting the fourth episode right now. “Hasan” is becoming more and more flesh and blood. We are different people in terms of emotional and emotional intensity. It was a very compelling thing that our common point with “Hasan” was the sea. These were things I already knew, so it made our job easier. Aside from that, we worked with Cevdet Hoca to capture this fairytale problem.
What effect do you hope the “Word of Honor” will have on your career?
I want this drama to last a long time and go well. The star for me is the project itself. If the project goes well, everyone will benefit from it as a career. I play a more introverted man than I’ve ever played. I wish I could have achieved this in the public eye.
