Snooker pro Alexander Ursenbacher defeated the current world champion 6: 5 in the British championship.
Alexander Ursenbacher caused a sensation at the British Milton Keynes championship. The Swiss pro beat reigning world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan in the 2nd round. Ursenbacher won against the snooker legend 6: 5.
The 24-year-old from Ursenbach faced possibly the best snooker player of all time at 2-0. Last year the Swiss had already defeated the Englishman at the Welsh Open.
Strong Ursenbacher nerves in the eleventh frame
Ursenbacher took the lead 2-0 and then 4-2 in the best-of-11 match, before O’Sullivan took the lead with 3 straight 5-4 wins in his favor. But the world number two made a mistake in the 10th frame, which Ursenbacher (number 66) was able to use for the 5: 5.
In the “Decider”, Ursenbacher presented a break of 47 after a nice rookie and a few minutes later he brought the frame and then the game undercover.
The British Championship is one of the 3 most important tournaments of the year.
