With 14.3% of the vote, the former light heavyweight champion won the race for one of three available seats on the Huntington Beach board.
American UFC fighter Tito Ortiz won the November 3 municipal election and landed a position on the Huntington Beach, California city council.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Ortiz received 14.3% of the vote, while Dan Kalmick and Natalie Moser, who will also become members of the body, have 11% and 10.9% respectively.
“It’s not a position, but # 1 for the community and our children’s future”, he wrote the former wrestler on his Twitter account.
The fighter became the former light heavyweight champion in 2000 and managed to defend the title five times. In 2012 he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.
