Motorola has put batteries into the world of fully wireless or TWS headphones, and this year we’ve seen several models in its VerveBuds series. The new ones Motorola VerveBuds 120 They seem to be picking up the baton of the VerveBuds 100 we saw in March, although they are ramping up compaction further.
These are headphones that minimize their size to go beyond the format that popularized headphones like the Samsung Galaxy Icon and that we see in many brands years later. From Motorola we have also seen the VerveBuds 250 in this wake, but this time the design has changed a little more and they remain a price that does not exceed 50 euros.
Compact, resistant and elegant
What they were looking for in this product is to get compact waterproof and sweat resistant headphones. In this case, the VerveBuds 120 have a resistance certification IPX6, so they are designed for standard use or even during sports, in the absence of knowing if they hold well in the ear.
What we see is that they are almost the exact extension of the sponge that is inserted into the ear, then it doesn’t even have the overhang we have seen in the VerveBuds 100 and they are not shaped like the VerbeBuds 800, with the bar on the outside (Apple AirPods style. They are quite discreet and sober, so they can fit the aesthetics in many cases (especially if you are looking for something discreet).
Indeed, its case is deceptive, which appears to house headphones with the form factor of the VerveBuds 800. A box that in turn charges them, so that we can expand autonomy of 5 hours that the manufacturer promises until 15:00 (that of the VerbeBuds 100 was at 14:00).
Of course, it is a more basic model and certainly reducing its volume leads to compromising some functions. In this case they don’t have active noise cancellation, for example.
As we have seen in the VerveBuds 250, they are compatible with the most common voice assistants, such as Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant, which respond to voice commands. And for connectivity, they did Bluetooth 5.0. In addition, they are controlled by gestures.
Price and availability of the Motorola VerbeBuds 120
Motorola VerveBuds 120 wireless headphones are available for 49.99 euros (recommended price), although at the moment we find them on Amazon for 69.99 euros. They are only available in black and the purchase set includes the charging case, a set of six ear pads and a USB charging cable.
