Damilola: The boy next door
21:00, Channel 4

Doing something uplifting and redeeming from such a depressing event as the 2000 Damilola Taylor murder takes some work. But Yinka Bokinni almost manages to handle it here as she remembers Damilola as a boisterous childhood friend rather than the symbol she has become. There’s also an interesting broader story: the killing was followed by the demolition of the North Peckham estate and the forced dispersal of the largely happy community that lived there. Ambulance
9:00 pm, BBC One

Another frantic dispatch from the emergency services: here, on a Saturday night in London, he plans to field an ambulance call every 11 seconds. In addition to strokes, the side effects of cancer and people falling down stairs, we once again see neglected mental health having horrific consequences. Jack Seale

Prostitutes
21:00, BBC Two

Against a backdrop of heavy cleavage, massive hair and hard work, the action continues. Charlotte takes revenge on Isaac Pincher (Alfie Allen) after he burns down her house. And a striptease on horseback also acts as a diversion for Lucy (Eloise Smyth) who collaborates with the fabulous Elizabeth (Angela Griffin, who owns every scene she’s in). Hannah Verdier

Blind spot
21:00, Sky Witness

The elegant and silly procedural, played by Jaimie Alexander as an amnesiac whose tattoos contain clues to terrorist plots, reaches its fifth and final season. In the aftermath of a deadly drone attack, our off-the-grid heroes must snatch their tantalizing foe Rich Dotcom from a black CIA site. Graeme Virtue

The 2000s
22:00, BBC Two

This nostalgia holiday comes in 2001, which means the first Harry Potter movie and a particularly juicy storyline from EastEnders. It remains to be seen whether this unwittingly lighthearted series will deliberately decide to ignore 9/11. Angela Scanlon welcomes Amol Rajan and Emma Barnett as contributors this week. PH
