Tron (TRX) took a huge step forward in expanding its network by acquiring BitTorrent in July. Since then, everything has been underway if we talk about official statements. But now, for the first time, the foundation has unveiled a general plan for creating a reliable and decentralized Internet.

Project Atlas is a detailed summary of the business plans that will mark the future of content issuance. In other words, the project describes how the two systems will come together to create a content sharing platform. The system created will use the TRON tokens as a native currency.

According to Tron's CEO Justin Sun, the Tron protocol will be integrated into the file sharing platform. The features of the product will have no extraction, compatibility with previous versions, faster downloads and more seeds.

The ultimate goal of the project is to allow all content creators and their followers to connect directly and eliminate third parties (brokers). In the end, content creators will distribute content directly to users.

How does the "Project Atlas" function work?

At the start of "Project Atlas", BitTorrent peers will spend tokens to motivate users to get special services and functionality. Some of these include faster download speeds. Other activities such as seeding downloads that support the ecosystem will be paid with TRX tokens.

For subscribers who are interested in the mining sector, TRON (TRX) uses a delegated Proof of Proke system. This means that participating users will exchange tokens based on resources not provided by mining.

On the other hand, BitTorrent highlights features as a set of add-ons for protocols compatible with previous versions. In other words, torrent clients will continue to function without problems, regardless of whether a user has decided to download or seed / from the new generation of the user or if a subscriber is using a torrent system other than BitTorrent or uTorrent.

Furthermore, BitTorrent will apply this protocol evolution on both desktop and mobile versions. Next, he will explain the performance to the developer community and encourage other torrent followers to follow the guide and improve the infrastructure for everyone. However, the company will continue to offer services at no cost. Today, Justin has also tweeted a video, which highlights everything that Project Atlas is looking for.

Next, a more in-depth explanation of the latest networked features will be available in a YouTube presentation scheduled for 28th September.

Can Blockchain revolutionize content distribution?

The affiliation of TRON and BitTorrent along with other blockchain-based content distribution infrastructures has been defined as a way that will change the way the various forms of media are consumed and paid today.

For example, a good number of decentralized streaming services are emerging just like platforms that pay to users with tokens in exchange for using content. "Bitcache", the activity of Kim Dotcom will network Bitcoin micropayments that will make it easier for users to share content with each other; Ta Ta Tu reimburses its users for the content they use.

In summary, Tron is optimistic to benefit from the integration of over 100 million subscribers that the torrent platform, BitTorrent, boasts.
