The popular OKCoin cryptocurrency exchange added support for Tron (TRX). Tron was released to the market with the intention of being the next Ethereum (ETH). Several exchanges are already listing TRX that has grown in the last days. The information was released a few days ago by OKCoin in a blog post.
OKCoin adds Tron support
Investors and Tron enthusiasts are now able to purchase this digital currency through the OKCoin platform. The decision to add support to Tron is based on the fact that this digital asset and blockchain project was very active on the market in 2018 and at the beginning of 2019.
The official blog post published by OKCoin says of this decision:
"TRON (TRX) was one of the most active cryptocurrency projects on the market lately announcing a series of partnerships in 2018 – such as the recent agreements with NeoWorld, a world of multiplayer online virtual reality that runs on the blockchain, and China-based Internet giant Baidu ".
The Tron Foundation, led by Justin Sun, also decided to buy the BitTorrent p2p file sharing platform in 2018. Now, in 2019, the BitTorrent Foundation announced that it was launching a new token called BitTorrent Token (BTT). This new ICO will be launched via the Binance Launchpad and will be used to enhance the BitTorrent platform and its features.
During 2018, Tron was able to launch its mainnet network and also the so-called Tron Virtual Machine (TVM). This allows developers to deploy different decentralized applications (dApps) on its network. In recent months, the Tron network has continued to grow. In fact, it was able to overcome Ethereum in the number of daily active users of dApp and in the number of transactions processed by these users.
Furthermore, the number of portfolios continues to increase. In the future, the network is expected to receive new and different dApps after the Tron dApp competition.
At the time of writing the article, Tron is the ninth largest digital asset in the market. The virtual currency was able to acquire this position after having overtaken the newly created Bitcoin SV (BSV). TRX has a market capitalization of $ 1.68 billion and each TRX currency can be purchased for $ 0.025207m according to CoinMarketCap.
OKCoin is currently the 95th largest digital goods exchange on the market. In the last 24 hours, the exchange handled $ 2.61 million in trading volume.
