What if two Hollywood actors bought a soccer team? That’s right, they’re making a TV series out of it. This is what is happening in the UK right now. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney take over AFC Wrexham and, in their own words, want to “transform the club into a global powerhouse”.
The global power of the future is currently in the fifth highest division and was in the hands of fans for nine years prior to this Hollywood breakthrough. But now the “Wrexham Supporter Trust” has voted with a clear majority for the takeover by “Deadpool” – Reynolds and McElhenney from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”: Of around 2000 members, over 1800 were in favor.
