Top prizes for Sapphire Nitro + (SE)

After a leak a few days ago that allowed a first look at the Sapphire Nitro and Pulse models of the Radeon RX 6800 (XT), the first dealer has now listed the cards in advance. There is also a price, albeit in advance. The Radeon RX 6800 (XT) will be launched by Sapphire in two model variants, Nitro and Pulse, and in different versions. There is a standard version and a “special edition” of the Nitro +. The latter has RGB lighting and a USB Type-C port.

In general, all model variants and versions are available for both the Radeon RX 6800 and the Radeon RX 6800XT. All boards are based on a 3-slot design, which leaves some breathing room with a height of 2.7. The ubiquitous dual 8-pin connectors are now common. Sapphire generally recommends an 850 watt power supply.

But how much does the trip to Sapphire cost? According to the information provided by the Finnish dealer, it quickly becomes very expensive. The base price of the Radeon RX 6800 is 579 euros; the XT 649 euros. Custom designs will generally be higher and in the case of the Nitro + it’s 733 euros for the Radeon 6800 with Navi 21 XL, which the provider Multitronic calls. That’s a lot more money than the reference design, although Sapphire cards are considered good designs, and the chip probably has a lot of air for OC. Not surprisingly, the Radeon 6800 XT is even more expensive: the Nitro + costs 899 euros; the SE 930 euros.

The price level is high, as is often the case with such pre-order campaigns. However, it has been rumored for weeks that the supply situation will be poor and so it could actually be that the particularly popular models don’t drop in price at all. Clock rates are not yet available for all cards, but are likely to be higher than the AMD reference. There is also no data available on the probably somewhat cheaper pulse patterns. Due to the somewhat simpler design, they may find some fans for whom the Nitro is too boisterous. And given the prices for the Nitro, the Pulse is more likely to fall within the budget of some players.
