Global roaming will benefit from a new joint management, reconciliation and settlement platform following a partnership between TOMIA and Clear.
Combining Clear’s blockchain solutions and TOMIA’s roaming settlement and management solutions, the two said they will formulate an end-to-end solution for both existing and new services, from configuration to settlement, for l ” enabling new 5G, IoT and edge services.
TOMIA and Clear said the development “will truly transform operators’ ability to innovate and increase revenues in the coming years.”
Marco Limena (pictured), CEO of TOMIA, said: “TOMIA and Clear share the common goal of trying to offer transformative solutions to the telecommunications industry. Automated resolution solutions that drive partner collaboration and dispute automation processes are something the telecom industry has long wanted. It offers the much needed benefits like reduced costs, better time management and increased cash flow efficiency.
“System upgrades such as these are increasingly important at a time when the industry is undergoing significant change and telecom providers are seeking to promote connectivity through innovative new technologies such as 5G,” Limena added.
TOMIA and Clear have had a busy 18 months as blockchain technology becomes more integrated with telecom operations.
In June, TOMIA, launched in 2019 following the merger of Telarix and Starhome Mach, implemented compensation solutions for NTT DOCOMO in Japan. The carrier has implemented TOMIA’s financial and data clearing services along with its wholesale contract analysis tool to provide new levels of automation to DOCOMO’s wholesale contract management.
Discount offers can be simulated, agreed, tracked and predicted, all in real time, and can be automatically adjusted through TOMIA’s Financial Clearing.
Previously, TOMIA partnered with Microsoft, KPMG and R3 to promote blockchain-based settlements in interconnection and roaming ecosystems.
