KUALA LUMPUR, November 18 – Tom and Jerry, decades-old enemies, will bring their “violent” antics to the big screen next year.
In a two-and-a-half-minute trailer released by Warner Bros. Pictures, the beloved animated cat and mouse characters are seen walking together in peace before starting their hilarious scams at a luxury hotel in New York.
Entitled Tom and Jerry, the film will be a mix of classic and live-action animation, directed by Tim Story.
Following the release of the trailer, Warner Bros. Pictures has hinted that the animated duo’s rivalries will reignite when Jerry moves into New York’s best hotel on the eve of the “wedding of the century”.
To save the big day, the desperate organizer of the event, played by American actress Chloë Grace Moretz, will have to hire Tom to get rid of the mouse Jerry.
However, similar to the classic Tom and Jerry shorts released in the 1940s, Tom seems to be struggling again when trying to get rid of his little attacker.
Staying true to the main theme of the cartoon, the film captures the iconic fights, chases and trouble that the two cats and mice find themselves in.
The preview of the film is scheduled for March 5th.
