Four years ago, Til Schweiger (56) opened a restaurant in Hamburg with the Barefood Deli, and soon after a pizzeria was added with Henry Likes Pizza. But now the actor has had enough of the gastronomic world. While confirming «Bild», he gives up all his restaurants.
«After intense but wonderful years of building the Barefood Deli, I decided to give up on the restaurant. As a licensor, I will of course remain part of the brand I created, “says Schweiger. This will also be the case with Henry Likes Pizza.
“I’m not a restaurateur”
Rumors about his restaurants have been closing since 2019. The crown crisis has also fueled this. Especially when both Barefood Deli and Henry Likes Pizza were closed for two more months despite easing measures in May. Before the crisis, Schweiger said: “I have selected all the screws here. We have had difficult times. One thing is clear: I’m not a restaurateur, but I’m determined to keep the shop open. ”
Now his resolve has obviously weakened. The “Barefood Deli” and “Henry Likes Pizza” will however remain open. You will be taken over by the current CEO Michael Ränsch.
“At the moment, I want to focus 100% on my films and the Barefoot brand,” says Schweiger. This is the name of his film production company. He also recently sold his furniture brand “Barefoot Living”. (klm)
