TikTok has announced an official partnership with Sony Music. It will help content creators with more songs, notes socialmediatoday.com.

TikTok users have been able to use many songs from their favorite artists so far, but the playlist has become even richer with the new partnership between TikTok and Sony Music.

Despite the new offering, however, there are some “restrictions” regarding the use of music tracks. In May, TikTok updated its rules regarding the commercial use of popular songs, which prevented official brand accounts from using popular songs in their videos.

A “Music Library” has been created in which verified brands can select a range of music tracks. TikTok has a system for identifying the brand profile and prevents it from using commercial parts.

TikTok, on the new partnership with Sony Music, via SocialMediaToday:

“With this understanding, the TikTok creator community will have access to popular clips from Sony Music’s huge hit catalog, as well as new versions of songs to use in their TikTok content.

TikTok and Sony Music will work together to support higher levels of personalization and creativity of the TikTok user on the platform and provide new and future-oriented opportunities to engage fans with their artists and their music. “
