Three Olympiacos players fined for celebrating during the coronavirus lockdown

Greek professional football Olympiacos fines three of its players for breaking blockade rules and attending a hotel party.

It is recalled that on Saturday Greece entered the second national bloc.

The players Ruben Semedo, Lazar Randelovic and Bruno Felipe would have been “fined for the maximum amount” allowed by the regulations announced by the club. They were among about thirty people who attended a private party in a hotel in the center of Athens on Sunday evening.

The money from the fines will be donated to the state health service.

Greek government spokesman Stelios Petsas said the party is an example of “irresponsible behavior” targeted by the police as the country continues to see an increase in coronavirus cases.

It is not known whether this incident will affect the player’s participation in the match.

Olympiacos will host Manchester City in the Champions League on 25 November.
