Kinder magazine reported that lice can be transmitted from one child’s head to another through touch while playing, for example, indicating the need to fight lice as soon as they appear to prevent them from reproducing.
Because head lice secrete a little saliva into the scalp with each blood meal, they cause itching and the baby can scratch themselves, which sometimes leads to small skin wounds that can become infected and cause bacterial skin infections or eczema.
And lice can be eliminated by two substances, the first: they act on your nervous system and the second blocks your breathing holes. The first depends on a chemical plant base and the other on silicone oil.
In most cases, it is recommended to use silicone oil to prevent lice from being resistant to them, unlike medicines that act on the insect’s nervous system, which have shown resistance over time. It is not allowed to use home remedies such as vinegar and mayonnaise, or even use a dryer, in order not to damage the scalp.
Also, an adequate amount of the treated substance should be applied to the hair and left on for a long time, for it to have the desired effect. A common mistake is applying the treatment to damp hair, which can limit the effectiveness of the treatment. Therefore, the treatment must be applied to dry hair, without wrapping towels on the baby’s head so that they do not absorb the treatment and negatively affect its effect.
After applying the medicine, the hair is rinsed and the tuft is combed with a comb designed for lice, taking into account combing the hair every four days for a period of two weeks.
A second treatment
Kinder stressed the need for the second treatment, which often occurs on the ninth or tenth day. In the first treatment the insect is eliminated and not the eggs that the insect has already laid; The larvae can hatch up to the eighth day, and from the eleventh day the females begin to lay eggs again.
Losing the time frame on the ninth or tenth day risks starting all over again. For added safety, brushes or bunnies can be stored for three days in one of the bags. The inability to ingest fresh blood from the lice will kill them.
