This comedian wore a frog costume

Shortly before the semifinals, the audience decided: after the bee, the lobster and the alpaca, the journey in “The Masked Singer” ended also for the frog. Under the mask was a comedian that many had on their screens from the start.

The next celebrity was unmasked: the frog was captured in the fourth episode of “The Masked Singer”. Neither the first nor the second performance, the star with defined thighs and abdominal muscles of steel was able to convince the audience. The audience chose the frog of the show.

Wigald Boning was the frog

Previously, jurors had wondered what celebrity could be in the costume. Names such as Ralf Schmitz, Pierre Littbarski or Anton Hofreiter have been mentioned, but also Wigald Boning. All three jurors were certain of the comedian in particular. The public had him in their sights from the start. Since the first episode of the new season, the star of “Clever” has always been at the top of the charts.

And indeed: Wigald Boning was under the frog mask. “This show is such an adventure,” the 53-year-old enthused after revealing himself. “I’ve done a TV show or two, but this is something special.”

The costumes at a glance

Six candidates are currently still in the running. One is thrown out week after week. You can see all the costumes in ours Photo exhibition. By the way, the semifinals will be held on a Monday next week.

As in the last two seasons, “The Masked Singer” will be moderated by Matthias Opdenhövel. The badger jury, however, was completely replaced. Instead of Ruth Moschner and Rea Garvey, Sonja Zietlow and Bülent Celyan are now sitting behind the desk. The third place is regularly occupied by another celebrity. This time Elton was a guest.
