A group of new Japanese destroyers will be added to World of Warships: Legends on November 9, as will the new Yasen Butai Leader and Tokyo Express campaigns. This allows players to add a lot of firepower to their Japanese fleet. Additionally, the update brings two new Legendary Destroyer blueprints to the Bureau, as well as game enhancements for secondary weapons and Black Friday preparations later this month. Equally important is the next generation consoles finally reaching gamers, and we’re thrilled to announce that World of Warships: Legends for Xbox Series X / S will be available in late November. “Playstation 5” players will be able to enjoy naval battles right after the console is released.
The tech tree for Japanese destroyers for Japanese will be split in this update starting at level IV, bringing some alternatives to the tried and tested Japanese torpedo ships. Minekaze, Hatsuharu, Shiratsuyu and Akizuki are the new additions. These ships offer more powerful main weapons at higher levels, unlike their older counterparts which target torpedoes. In Akizuki Tier VII, in particular, phenomenal Japanese 100mm weapons are used, with agile rotating turrets and a high rate of fire. While these ships are designed more for firepower, they have powerful Japanese torpedoes aboard for tough situations. The entire line can be explored from the start of the update, so players can directly unlock the new destroyers.
Two new campaigns will run in the update. Over the next four weeks, players can work on Yasen Butai’s leading campaign to unlock Japanese Tier VII Grand Cruiser Azuma. This super cruiser was designed to replace Congo-class warships as leaders of the Yasen-Butai, or “post-armed forces”. The Azuma can fight almost any ranged target with powerful and highly explosive ammunition, as it has nine 310-mm guns are equipped and properly protected. Azuma is defined by its exceptional weaponry and a large supply of life points, suitable for ranged combat. Players can make their way through the 100 milestones supported by the Admiralty to unlock this cruiser monster. Then the shortest Tokyo Express campaign begins. It will last two weeks to give players a chance to earn Japanese Commander Raizo Tanaka and a ton of equipment by completing 40 achievements.
The Bureau receives two new projects that players can work on. This is the unlock of the Khabarovsk and Shimakaze destroyers of the “Legendary” level. As with other legendary tier ships, a long-term goal will be to unlock these destroyers by logging in every day and receiving upgrades from their fleet and commander lists and participating in battles. Khabarovsk is a large Russian destroyer with a set of powerful 130mm weapons, built for weapon duels between destroyers and, thanks to their relatively sturdy construction, some cruisers too. With fifteen long-range torpedoes and a solid top speed, the Shimakaze represents the pinnacle of the Japanese destroyer concept.
Some improvements to the game are also introduced with this update. There’s a new warship consumable item worth mentioning – improved secondary aim. This will greatly improve the accuracy of the secondary weapon for 30 seconds. This can be combined with a new skill for combat commanders, as well as changes to some other skills. Second guns should do a lot better after this update!
This update also offers a sneak peek of what Black Friday will be. Including 4 new ships from the “Black Fleet”: Mutsu B, Indianapolis B, Atago B and Blyskawica B! For the first time in over a year, the Blyskawica reappears, along with its sole commander Jerzy Świrski. These exclusive ships will be available for a limited time and the Atago B in particular will only be available in the new Black Friday containers.
