The version of Windows that celebrated its 35th anniversary yesterday

One of the versions of the Windows operating system celebrated its 35th anniversary yesterday, November 20th. So, that version was released by Microsoft in the United States in 1985. While it wasn’t well received by critics, that version was the basis for Microsoft’s future iterations.

It is no exaggeration to say that Microsoft’s Win operating systems in the United States are some of the most ubiquitous software in the history of the world.

Sooner or later, you’ve almost certainly spent some time with one of the Win platform versions. Yesterday was the 35th anniversary of the first version of Windows. Windows 1.0 was released by Microsoft in the United States on November 20, 1985, but chances are you haven’t used it.

It was negatively received by critics in its day, partly for Windows 1.0 it wasn’t quite an operating system, but rather a graphical interface on the company’s MS-DOS in the United States.

But this series of operating systems has evolved from Win 95 and XP to versions like Vista, ME and Win 8. Not all versions have been a blockbuster, but there are over 1 billion devices running Windows 10, this system from Microsoft in the United States remains the leading personal computing platform.

Of course, mobile devices could be the future, with over 2 billion active Android devices. But traditional PCs won’t disappear too soon, and Microsoft’s Win 10 system will certainly continue to be used for years to come.
