When it comes to mini PCs, the most resonant name is undoubtedly the Raspberry Pi. However, very interesting machines have arrived on the market, both in terms of price and functionality.
Our tip today goes to the NanoPi R4S, a mini PC that fits in a pocket equipped with 2 Gigabit ports.
FriendlyELEC's latest small low-power computer is a 2.6 "x 2.6" single board PC with a hexa-core Rockchip RK3399 processor. This small PC supports up to 4GB of RAM and comes with a microSD card reader for storage.
The NanoPi R4S does not have a video output interface, as it is not designed to connect to a TV or monitor for use as a Media Center or desktop computer. However, this machine is equipped with two Gigabit Ethernet ports and two USB 3.0 ports, which means you can connect it to your network while functioning as a headless computer.
The RK3399 CPU has two more performance-focused ARM Cortex-A72 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores for less demanding tasks. The GPU is a Mali-T864. The small computer will be available with 1GB of DDR3 memory or 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. As noted, both Ethernet interfaces support Gigabit speeds.
There is also a USB-C port for 5V / 3A power input, a 4-pin USB 2.0 interface, and two 5-pin connectors for SPI and I2C. So far, the prices for the different models have not yet been made available.
