Oppo launched Reno 4 Pro 5G in early October. The feature that Oppo praises the most in the new device is the video function. Especially the night mode (Ultra Night Mode) and the image stabilizer (Ultra Steady Mode) were tinkered with their own information. Oppo has also equipped the Reno 4 Pro’s selfie camera with image stabilization. This did a great job when I tested the front and rear cameras. The ultra stable mode of the front camera was particularly impressive when jogging in the forest.
The night mode for shooting was also convincing. In cities in particular, where the contrast between street lighting, neon advertising and dark sidewalks is very great, the camera was able to compensate so much that all the elements visible in the shot could be easily recognized. When taking photos in night mode, this worked a little less well in comparison. However, the results were impressive. Unfortunately, image stabilization and ultra night mode cannot be used simultaneously, at least in automatic video mode.
Soloop video editing app is pre-installed on the device. It can be used in a simple and intuitive way and allows, among other things, to cut videos, apply filters and add text and music. A very practical feature for all social media enthusiasts who want to optimize their videos directly from their mobile and upload them to their respective platforms.
The photo quality with the Reno 4 Pro is very good, as is usual with previous Oppo models. Macro shooting with a distance of 7 centimeters between the mobile phone and the object was also no problem for the device.

From 0 to 100 in 36 minutes
For the first time, Oppo has installed two batteries with a capacity of 2000 mAh each in the Reno 4 Pro. The separate batteries should be able to charge faster and generate less heat than a single large battery. The manufacturer claims that the device is charged to 60% within 15 minutes using the supplied charger. In practice, the mobile phone has not always delivered on this promise. Out of a total of three times, the Reno 4 Pro hit 62 percent in 15 minutes. The other two times it was charged at 54 and 56 percent respectively. From 0 to 100 within the promised 36 minutes, the device succeeded in all three attempts.
In addition to the PIN and pattern, the device can be unlocked using facial recognition and a fingerprint sensor. Both proved to be fast and reliable when tried. Facial recognition also worked perfectly with a mask or glasses. The darker the light, the harder it was for the Reno 4 Pro to recognize the user. The fingerprint sensor is integrated directly into the screen. With it, the phone was unlocked in less than a second. With cold or wet hands a second attempt was sometimes necessary.

Now with a Klotz camera
In terms of design, Oppo was probably inspired by the new camera modules from Samsung and Huawei in the block format. While the rear cameras of the Reno 5G and Reno 2 were still arranged one under the other in the top center of the device, the manufacturer has now moved them to the top left. The camera module, as well as the individual lenses themselves, now protrude a few millimeters from the device, but are even thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S 20 Ultar or the Huawei P40 Pro. Another new design feature is the surface that Oppo calls “Reno Glow”. It ensures that the back of the device remains free of fingerprints and scratches. In fact, it was impossible to leave a fingerprint even with freshly hydrated hands.

Enco W51 defies wind, street noise and cooking enthusiasts
In addition to the new Oppo Reno 4 series, the manufacturer has presented three new in-ear headphones. One of these is the Enco W51. When tested, the wireless Bluetooth earbuds not only proved comfortable, but also delivered on Oppo’s promises. The manufacturer-specified 10-meter wireless range was no problem for the Enco W51. The connection would not drop during hands or if the mobile phone was on the other side of the wall or door, a marked improvement over the manufacturer’s older Enco-Free headphones. The headphones are also suitable for athletes. No matter how you twist and even if your head hangs as you stretch, the signal hasn’t stopped and the headphones have stayed in your ears.
The Enco W51 has Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and that’s what it takes. Regardless of whether it was the noise of the wind as you walked, the noise of trains and the street or the rustle and hum of the kitchen fan, the ambient noise did not penetrate. If someone talks to you directly, what is being said may be muffled, but to block background conversations – for example in the office or in a bar – noise suppression is always sufficient. Noise cancellation can be turned on and off quickly and easily with a double tap on the left earbud. If you remove one of the earphones from your ear, music or video playback will automatically stop. If you reinsert the ear insert, it resumes automatically. You can switch to another track by double tapping the right earbud.
If noise cancellation is on, Oppo promises 3.5 hours of battery life, without ANC 4 hours. The Enco W51 was able to stick to both times during the test.

Conclusion:
The Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G is particularly interesting for vloggers and social media enthusiasts, as it offers the highest quality videos with both the selfie and the rear camera. During the test, the night mode when shooting with the rear camera and the image stabilizer for videos shot with the front camera were particularly convincing. Thanks to the pre-installed and easy to use Sloop video editing app, you can cut videos directly on the device, add text, etc. The battery of the device recharges very quickly in 36 minutes. Furthermore, the “luminescent” surface, which protects the device from scratches and fingerprints, is not only beautiful to look at but also practical.
The Enco W51 headphones also did a good practical job. They were comfortable, delivered on their battery promises and are also suitable for sports. The noise suppression was able to block out wind, street noise, background conversations and the kitchen fan.
