The new Range Rover Sport hybrid became the first car to scale the “Gate of Heaven” in China.
The luxury off-road vehicle covered 11.3 km of extreme route which included 99 tight curves and ended with the 999 steps of the road leading to the “Gates of Paradise”.
The record trip included gradients of up to 45 degrees along the “Dragon Road”.
One of China’s most famous attractions, the Gates of Heaven is a rock arch rising from the clouds of the Tianmen Mountains.
The Range Rover Sport plug-in P400e has a 295hp engine with a 114hp electric motor, for a total of nearly 400hp. The electric propeller guarantees a range of 50 km.
