The latest Battlefield was far from the commercial success they expected from EA. Already the first impressions presaged a meager future for a fifth installment of Battlefield that revisited the historical settings with modernist airs, exploiting some currents of the current world. Dice’s new opportunity for the saga is announced for 2021 and according to Andrew Wilson, current CEO of EA, the next installment of the franchise will be greater than all previous ones.
The future of Battlefield
During his fiscal second quarter 2021 earnings meeting, Wilson referred to the new Battlefield as follows:
“The technological advancements of the new consoles allow the team to produce with a true concept next generation for franchising. We are conducting internal game testing and the feedback has been very positive so far during the early stages of community interaction. “
EA has a goal for fiscal year 22 (which runs from April 2021 to March 2022) to release at least 6 new titles on the next generation of consoles. Whether updates to their most popular sports franchises will be included within these 6 games remains to be seen, but there is no doubt that fans are expecting to see plenty of expected returns and more action in single player titles.
