In the letter
- A mysterious Ethereum announcement appeared on the Warsaw Metro.
- It asks people to solve a puzzle on the blockchain.
- The winner gets 7 ETH.
In Warsaw, the capital of Poland, a viral marketing campaign was born. Plastered in the subway stations is the message: “SOLVE THE PUZZLE, ASK FOR THE PRIZE”.
The poster then points commuters to an Ethereum address that contains the reward, 7 ETH, in addition to the hash tags # 0xPOLAND and # 0xPOLANDHEIST.
The Twitter account that appears to be behind the campaign, 0xPoland, links to a website which displays a countdown timer, which expires Thursday at 9:24 UTC, and the code for the smart contract.
To request the money, according to the smart contract, the correct solution must be entered in the Ethereum smart contract. This involves calling the smart contract’s “reveal” function. Once the correct solution has been entered, the contract will send the sender 7 ETH– presumably.
No more information has yet emerged about the puzzle or those behind it. The Twitter account, which appears to have just been created last week, is posting rabbit emojis and some GIFs. A couple of people tweeted about hash tags, but not much more.
0x is the name of a decentralized exchange based in San Francisco. He didn’t tweet about the campaign, nor did anyone mention the campaign in his Telegram chat. One member, “Nikita” said Decrypt that there is no “relationship”.
There is also a Polish Ethereum Development Company called 0x. It is based in Warsaw. However, its Discord chat, which has nine members, has been inactive for about a year. Its Telegram chat, which contains six, is also a ghost town.
Everything can become clear when the clock strikes zero. Unless Decrypt solves the puzzle first.
