The minister also stressed the great role of central laboratories as they are the first line of defense for the Ministry of Health and Population and the Egyptian state, indicating the ability of the laboratories to meet the growing needs of conducting Corona virus analyzes, as the central laboratories have expanded to reach 60 specialized laboratories at the level of the governorates of the Republic under technical supervision and follow-up. Laboratories were also equipped and supplied with devices and reagents in tourist governorates (such as the Red Sea and South Sinai) to serve tourists arriving in Egypt, and border laboratories were also equipped to facilitate cross-border trade and transport.

He pointed out that the accreditation of the laboratory is proof that the laboratory applies best practices through technical competence to conduct medical analyzes based on verified methods and that the accredited laboratory gains some sort of international recognition which allows its results to be accepted. all over the world.
