Next week the popular cryptocurrency event, The North American Bitcoin Conference (TNABC) will be hosted in downtown Miami at the James L Knight Center, January 18-19. However, bitcoin supporters have received unfortunate news this week, as event organizers have announced they have stopped accepting bitcoin payments for conference tickets due to tariffs and network congestion.

TNABC closes ticket payments with Bitcoin

Now this week, due to the same problems with the Bitcoin network, TNABC organizers have stopped accepting bitcoin payments for tickets.
"Due to network congestion and manual processing, we closed ticket payments using Cryptocurrencies: we hope that next year there will be more units in the community on downsizing and global adoption will become a reality ", explains the TNABC ticketing page.
Bitcoin's blockchain payment fees exceed $ 30 USD at certain times of the day
At the beginning of this morning news.Bitcoin.com spoke with the organizer of Keynote Events-TNABC, Moe Levin on the recent announcement regarding the purchase of tickets. Levin tells us in a conference call that his company is "shuffling" to get bitcoin money or a digital asset with cheaper commissions integrated into the ticketing system.
"We have and will always accept cryptocurrencies," says Levin. "Up to fourteen days before the event, we accepted cryptocurrencies and manually processed all the transactions that became laborious".
We hope this has been simpler, but there are no ticketing options to handle large volumes of ticket sales and transaction costs on the Bitcoin blockchain exceed $ 30 at certain times of the day.
Get ticket providers to accept other digital assets and be confident for the future
Getting ticket service operators to integrate alternative cryptocurrencies is a difficult task for an event that takes place over two weeks. Keynote Events is trying to get another accepted digital asset for tickets and its promising companies in the crypto-space can help solve problems like this in the future.
"Ticketing service providers like Eventbrite or others still do not have cryptographic integrations, and I think within a year, companies like Coinpayments and other payment service providers will have better tools and we will integrate immediately," Levin says at news.Bitcoin.com.
There have also been a couple of initial coin offers in the last two months that have tried to tackle ticketing and cryptography, and we are optimistic that they will deliver good results.
