16. November 2020 – Guido van Rossum, inventor of the Python programming language, is new to Microsoft. His job should be to improve Python.

Guido van Rossum was in fact retired from 2018. The inventor of the Python programming language, born in the Netherlands in 1956 announced but recently through the Twitter short message service he was bored and then hired by Microsoft (via “Borncity”). At the service of Microsoft’s Developer Division, van Rossum’s job is to further improve Python and its use on various operating systems.

Guido van Rossum, who holds a master’s degree from the University of Amsterdam, developed Python in the early 1990s at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica in Amsterdam as a successor to the ABC programming language. He chose the name Python for his project because he is a great admirer of the British comedians of Monty Python. (luc)
