The government announces a plan to test 50 million citizens for HIV

The government presented a report on the efforts made in the field of comprehensive health care provision, in the field of comprehensive health insurance, in the field of development of health facilities, as well as in the field of provision of medicines, vaccines and infant formula, as well as in fight against hepatitis and in the treatment of citizens at the expense of the state.

The government proposes a plan to test 50 million citizens for the C virus:

The Prime Minister, Dr Mustafa Madbouly, said the government has submitted to the House of Representatives a report on the periodic follow-up of the government’s work program within two years, starting from July 2018 to June 2020.

The report also included that as part of the implementation of the first phase of the global health insurance program, 41 hospitals will be developed in the Governorates of the Canal region and that the first phase includes 305 units and centers to provide priority health care.

This adds to 50 hospitals to provide second and third tier health services. 48 medical facilities have been equipped to quality standards in Port Said, South Sinai and Luxor governorates and 26 hospitals have also been established, developed and equipped.

In addition, 1,156 beds were added in government hospitals and hospitals affiliated with the General Secretariat for specialized medical centers. Hearing impairment was surveyed for 511,500 children and government efforts continued to implement presidential initiatives to provide health care to citizens.

Regarding the C virus eradication initiative, 50 million citizens over the age of 18 have been examined, treatment has been provided for around 1.025 million infected people and 15 centers have been established to treat the C virus in several governorates.
