Yamaha now claims that the violation of the protocol (or regulations) was an internal inattention or an oversight. It is acknowledged, however, that Yamaha actually failed to obtain the consent of the other MSMA members so that the tubes could be used by two different suppliers.
Yamaha would like to clarify that there were no bad intentions behind the installation of these different valves, one of which was not homologated, which is why it has now been classified as illegal.
If there were no bad intentions, a question naturally arises: Why was the transgression covered for more than three months?
Yamaha ensures that there was no difference in valve design. But then perhaps with the material, one might assume.
Despite the 5 November sanctions, Yamaha continues to ensure MotoGP riders and teams have maximum support in the 2020 title fight. Yamaha stressed that they will make an extraordinary effort to win the MotoGP World Championship trophies and 2020 riders. .
The opposing producers hold back with criticism. Suzuki team manager Davide Brivio and KTM motorsport director Pit Beirer said unanimously: “We are staying out and agree with the sanctions that have been decided.”
