“The Crown”: Diana’s former butler defends season 4 from accusations
With its fourth season, the Netflix series “The Crown” has reached an exciting point, because this is where Lady Diana, who died in 1997, comes in. Their staging does not meet with approval everywhere, especially not from the Royal family. Friends of Prince Charles, for example, have accused the streaming service of exploiting the pain of royalty.
An important voice now opposes this criticism. No one less than Lady Di Paul Burrell’s ex-butler finds words of praise in the British Lorraine breakfast program. Diana actress Emma Corrin inspires him especially with her performance.
Here’s Why Diana’s Former Butler Loves “The Crown”
Burrell truly believed the real Diana was flickering on the screen as she watched the show. This is how Emma Corrin won him over. The gestures, facial expressions and mannerisms of the actress are right to the point. Diana’s character was perfectly captured for him.

The former servant also considers the fourth season of “The Crown” as the best of the series. In addition to Emma Corrin, he was particularly taken with Gillian Anderson in the role of Margaret Thatcher. Steal the show from Burrell’s eyes.
Are the royals afraid of “The Crown”?
In the interview, Paul Burrell does not mince words and openly shoots against the royal family. For the criticisms of “The Crown” on this side has a simple explanation: The series shows exactly what Buckingham Palace would rather hide. No wonder the royal family is uncomfortable.
He describes royalty as “gods in their realm” who are closest to themselves. Looking behind the scenes in “The Crown,” he sees them confronted with their own ignorance. It was precisely this attitude that dismantled Diana’s personality.

According to Burrell, the series as a whole is pretty close to the truth. The new season is a “fair and accurate dramatization” of real events.
Emma Corrin should be very happy with the praise from Diana’s closest circle. He recently revealed that, on the one hand, he would like to know what Harry and William think of Diana’s portrayal in “The Crown”, but would run away if he actually meets them at a party. (saw / ju)
